The Newton Recreation Commission has soccer, softball and baseball fields available. Each of these fields can be rented beginning January 2 of each year and can be rented for practices, leagues and tournaments. Fields can be rented seven days a week, at any time of day, providing there are no NRC activities scheduled at that location. Any teams participating in NRC leagues are allowed to reserve fields for practices at no charge.

Soccer fields are located in Centennial Park and the number of fields available is dependent on the size needed. Fields are not lighted and there are no scoreboards. Restrooms are located in the park and a concession stand is also available.

Soccer field rental rates:
$10 per field, per day. A $12 per hour fee is required for field marking and maintenance.

Softball fields are located in several locations. Athletic Park has one field which has lights, an electronic scoreboard and scorer’s box. A lighted field is also located at Washington Park. 10th & Ash park is home to a small field suited for younger kids or t-ball. Centennial Park has 4 softball fields and a lighted baseball field with 275 foot fences. Kenny Williams baseball field is also located in Centennial Park. A lighted field with 300 foot fences, it is well suited for tournaments.

Softball/Baseball field rental rates:
Deposit -         $75 per field or facility

Concessions  - $50 per event, per site

Field(s) -         $75 per field or facility, per day

Lights -           $75 per field or facility, per day (maximum 3 hours)

For a fee of $12 per hour, a NRC staff member can be on hand to supervise and maintain the fields.

Rental of a softball or baseball field for tournament purposes requires a $75 deposit which is separate from the rental amount and is refunded if rental conditions are fulfilled.

*This fee includes field marking and maintenance at the beginning of the tournament only.
