be stewards of the environment. Activities will be explored through role
playing, games, see-touch-feel demonstrations, service projects, and crafts. Earth Day Arts & Crafts Every Day is Earth Day! Join the NRC staff for this once a year celebration
for the earth. Participants will be able to show, through art, how they feel
about the earth. There will be several projects to choose from and fun is
guaranteed! Play Days The Recreation Center is the place to be when school is out for the day. Sure
the teachers have to work - but we have to play. Games in the gym, swimming,
movies, video games and great snacks add up to one great day. Don’t miss out! Discovery Camp Parents Meeting If you are planning on your child participating in the 2008 Summer Discovery
Camp program please plan on attending this informational meeting. The summer
staff will be there for parents/guardians to meet. Our rules and policies will
be discussed as well as other topics including summer camp swim lessons and
Adventure Day trips. Music & Rhyme Station Are you sitting at home trying to think of something to do with your little
toddler? Come join our six week class of pure fun. Each class will focus on
different songs about your toddler’s body, movements, shapes and arts & crafts. Toddler Gym Time Let your toddler have fun while working on his or her listening skills. We
will use balls, parachutes, and our own silliness in this entertaining class.
Kitchen Music Pots and pans, spoons and spatulas come alive in this class. Your child will
channel his/her inner musician in this "jam session" for kids. Let’s Get Messy Toddlers have great imaginations which will come alive in this arts and
crafts extravaganza. Using different themes each day, we will use paint,
glitter, paste, noodles and more to create artwork.
Just For Mom Come and join us for an hour of
creating something special for Mom’s special day. My Dad Is The Best With Father’s day coming up, we will make gifts that will melt Dad’s heart. Pre-School Play Time Let your 3-5 year old’s imagination come alive in this Play Time Fiesta! We
will play games, do arts & crafts, play with parachutes, the sky is the limit!
Parents are welcome to participate. You can sign your child up for one day or
all days. Pre-School Tae Kwon Do Has your little one been intrigued by Tae Kwon Do on television? This class
is an introductory Tae Kwon Do class which will emphasize discipline, courtesy
and respect and help develop motor skills with a whole lot of fun mixed in! Mr.
Monares will end each class with a Korean fable. Participants do not need a
uniform for this class. Babysitter’s Training This course gives young people ages 11 - 15 the skills and confidence to care
for infants through school-aged children. This is an interactive and
activity-based program that builds self-confidence and competence by practicing
decision-making and managing real-life situations. Topics include safety issues,
preventing injuries and illnesses, basic childcare, first aid, care for choking
and age-appropriate behavior and play. Minimum Enrollment: 6 Maximum Enrollment: 10 Note: All participants must bring a sack lunch. This is an American Red Cross course. Splish, Splash Back to School Bash Join us for an evening of swimming, music, friends, games and snacks as we
say goodbye summer…hello school! All students attending must follow the USD 373
dress code and NRC rules. Parachute Games We want your children to attend 45-minutes of fun and games at NRC using only
a parachute. There will be a variety of games that will encourage teamwork,
listening skills and just plain having fun! You can sign your child up for one
day, or all days. Touch A Truck Have you every seen a big City Truck, Fire truck, or Police
Car and wondered what it’d be like to sit behind the wheel? Join us today and
touch a truck! Gymnastics - Beginners Introductory classes that will start the kids down the correct road. Basic
tumbling, coordination and stretching will be taught. Gymnastics - Intermediate This class builds on existing skills, helps develop coordination, flexibility
and confidence. All this and it’s fun! Gymnastics - Parent-Tot This is an interactive class with the instructors leading and the assistance
of at least one parent/guardian. Work with your child on basic tumbling skills
at her/his own pace with guidance from Kami & Casie. Concerts for Kids Laura Lee has successfully entertained young audiences since 1990. She will
perform songs, many featuring group participation and sign language
interpretation. Participants can attend just one session or all sessions. The
more you attend the more fun you will have! Adults are required to attend with
their children. Hip Hop/Jazz Dance Ever been caught "busting a move?" Join Elizabeth Senn in this new dance
session and we will teach you moves you won’t be embarrassed to be caught doing!
Classes will concentrate on introductory skills and fundamentals. No experience
necessary, just a willingness to have fun and "break it down." Minimum Enrollment: 5 Maximum Enrollment: 15 Tap Dance Join Chelsea Gronau for this exciting program! Classes will concentrate on
introductory skills and fundamentals. No experience is required just smiling
faces. Time: 7:00 - 8:00 PM Minimum Enrollment: 5 Maximum Enrollment: 15 Note: Students should wear comfortable clothes. Tap shoes are required for these classes. Itsy Bitsy Yoga Consistently practicing Yoga with a young child will help their learning
retention and natural motor development. In this class you will learn up to 70
different positions for your child. Join us and let us help you relax your
child. Pedal Pushers JFK once said, "Nothing compares with the simple pleasure of a bike ride."
Join NRC on this new adventure! Whether you want to challenge yourself or enjoy
a short ride with your family, this is the event for you! All participants will
receive a T-Shirt to wear on the day of the event. Time: Registration
begins at 7:15 AM, Bike ride is at 8:00 AM Note: Helmets are required.
