Join Connie Rhodes and Barbara Gabel for a fun, interactive acrylic painting class. Let your imagination run wild as you explore the joy of painting in a supportive and fun environment. Perfect for all skill levels!
Time: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Fee: $25 per class
Ages: 10 years -16 years

Location: NRC Sunflower Room
Registration Deadline: Sunday prior to each class.
Minimum Enrollment: 5 Maximum Enrollment: 20
Note: July 9th class will be held 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Battle of the Schools 1-Mile Fun Run
Saturday, May 3rd
* The school with the most participants will receive the traveling trophy!
* 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given to each grade.
* All 1st place winners will be placed into a Grand Prize drawing!
* All participants who did not come in 1st place will be placed into a Grand Prize drawing!
Time: Check in at 9:15 AM, Line up at 9:45 AM; Run starts at 10:00 AM
Fee: $15
Ages: Kindergarten - 6th Grade
Location: Centennial Park
Note: Participants may register up to the day of the race but will not be guaranteed a t-shirt after deadline.

5th/6th Grade Dance
Friday, May 9th - Dancing Into Summer
Are you ready to dance? Grab all of your friends and come on down to the Rec Center for an evening of fun! All students attending must follow the USD 373 dress code and NRC rules. Remember no black hard-soled shoes are allowed in the gym. NEW! This Dance Has a Theme! By request, we’re going Hawaiian Style! Bust out your flower shirts, leis, and beachy vibes for a tropical night of fun!
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Fee: $6
Ages: 5th/6th graders ONLY
Location: NRC Gymnasium

Newton Community Camp 101
Monday, July 28th - Friday, August 1st
Newton Community Camp 101 offers an exciting, behind-the-scenes look at our community! Throughout the week, participants will tour a variety of local businesses, enjoy lunch at Newton restaurants, and come together to complete a meaningful community service project.
Time: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Fee: $129
Ages: Entering 3rd Grade - Completed 5th Grade

Location: Meeting in NRC Cottonwood Room
Traveling to Newton Community Businesses
Registration Deadline: Monday, July 14th
Minimum Enrollment: 10 Maximum Enrollment: 15
Note: MUST PRE-REGISTER and attend all 5 days of camp. Please prepare your children that we will be walking to most businesses (up to 1-2 miles). We will be bused to businesses not in walking distance.
